M3 Case Symposium

USA medical student explains his research

The M3 Case Symposium is hosted annually by the Whiddon College of Medicine Student Assembly.

Throughout their third year, medical students gain hands-on clinical experience by caring for patients alongside physicians and other healthcare professionals. These experiences deepen their medical knowledge, strengthen their clinical skills, and often influence their future career and specialty decisions.

During the symposium, rising fourth-year medical students present posters highlighting interesting, rare or unusual cases they encountered during their third-year clerkship rotations. The event also provides an opportunity for students to showcase independent scholarly projects.

Faculty judges evaluate the case reports based on originality, strength of conclusions, quality of references, overall appearance, organization and topic.
